IRCTC has launched book my train cash on delivery service for booking train tickets for passengers who can't make payment online. The service is expected to benefit a lot of IRCTC passengers because a large share of India's population doesn't have net banking enabled bank account or cards, Cash On Delivery option provided by IRCTC will definitely encourage a lot of people to book train ticket online. It will also encourage the people who book at railway reservation counters to use online ticket booking service which makes the queues at the reservation counters in shorter. It will save the cost of operations for Indian Railways.

Steps to book train ticket through Cash on Delivery payment option.
- Login to bookmytrain.com or download the app from respective play store and register with bookmytrain.
- After registration, click on 'Buy a Ticket' tab to book your journey.
- Select the desired source & destination, select quota, and journey date.
- Select the train and relevant class to get availability.
- Now fill the passenger details.
- Choose relevant reservation preference.
- Select the payment option.
- Review booking details.
- Accept terms of booking ticket.
- Provide your delivery address.
- Confirm your booking by providing your registered Email / IRCTC Username.
The ticket will be delivered to your doorstep in the case of COD as a payment option. This facility is available in 200 cities/towns as of now. The details of your booking will be available in the Booking History section on Bookmytrain.com. You can log in at any time and print your copy, even if you lose one and need another.
Cash On Delivery is allowed 5 days prior to the travel.

IRCTC has Launched Pay on Delivery option to its the www.irctc.co.in website and the mobile app itself to facilitate the travelers who don't feel comfortable sharing their details online!
