MMTS Train Timings

MMTS train timings are maintained by South Central Railway. MMTS is an intracity train service in the city of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) is a joint project of Southcentral railway and Andhra Pradesh government. The MMTS trains are run and maintained by South Central Railway of Indian Railways. It is the most convenient and preferred way in compared to road transport. It is a cheaper mode of transport in Twin cities. More than 1.5 Lakhs of passengers travels through MMTS trains. This project was launched in August 2003. The first phase was completed at a cost of Rs. 178 Crores. MMTS operates around 84 services and covers more than 40 stations.

Each MMTS train is composed of following compartments:

• General
• Ladies
• Physically Handicapped
• Vendor
• First class

An MMTS Train has nine compartments in total out of which seven are general and two are ladies compartments. The ladies compartment is composed of twenty seats and is part of the first class compartment. There are a few special trains which run only for lady passengers. The MMTS service runs on high-speed electric trains making the traveling fast and efficient. It fulfills the needs of all classes of the people of the city.

MMTS Trains in Hyderabad are generally overcrowded during the peak office timings of 8AM to 11AM in the morning and 6PM to 9PM in the evening. There are only a few limited direct services which run between Hyderabad and Secunderabad cities.

Mostly IT/Software professionals working in Hitec City or Gachibowli take these trains because of its convenience and also to avoid the road traffic in Hyderabad.
